The book www.Here-I-Am is by Russell Stannard and published in the USA by Templeton Foundation Press. It is available here or at the Templeton Foundation Press bookstore www.templetonpress.org

You probably found out about this site from reading my book "www.Here-I-Am." But just in case you learned about it some other way, you might like to know that it is all about a character called Sam who logged on this site by mistake. God was personally online that day! Not that Sam believed for one minute it was really God answering - Sam being someone who was not at all sure there was a God. Even if there was one, wouldn't God be too old fashioned to be using the Internet? One thing Sam did know, however, is that there are hackers and computer viruses! So began the attempt to unmask the true identity of the person who was running this site. In the process, there developed a fascinating conversation about all the big problems of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Sam never did find out who it was: God or a hacker (you will have to make up your own mind on that score). And incidentally, the book does not tell you whether Sam is a boy or a girl - a Samuel or a Samantha. A bit strange, don't you think? You read a whole book about a character, and you haven't a clue as to whether it is a boy or a girl - which is great! If you are a girl, you can think of Sam as a girl too, or if you are a boy, Sam becomes a boy. You can sample the first few pages of the book in First Chapter, and see what other children think of it in Readers' Opinions.

But, you might be thinking, "Hold on! Who said I was interested in you and your books? I've got more important things to think about. It so happens I have something important on my mind, and I logged on to have a chat with God about it. I don't want to be talking to you."

If that is the case, you might first have a quick look at the topics listed in Questions to Think About. These are some of those discussed in the book. You never know, whatever is troubling you might be something God has already discussed with Sam. That being so, you could have a look at what God had to say to Sam about it.

If you don't find it there - no problem. You can reach him wherever you are, wherever God is, any time of the day or night. No, I am not talking about mobile phones! I am talking about prayer. That's what God eventually got around to telling Sam. Sam was not to rely on reaching God via the Internet. It was far easier just to pray. That way you don't run up any bills or stop others who might be wanting to use the computer. That in fact is why God has given up manning this site on a regular basis. It was the same people (like Sam) who kept logging on. Other people didn't even know about this site - which wasn't fair. With prayer, everyone gets to have a go on an equal basis which is much better.

So, Good Reading - and Good Praying!
